Meet our new Yoga Teacher, Eva Brenner











I would love to introduce you to our lovely new teacher, Eva.

When do you feel most alive? Every day on my yoga mat… and jumping into the ocean!

Describe your perfect day. Yoga in the morning, a walk in nature, a good dance and a community project with friends like fixing up a garden or making group art.

What are some books that have changed the way you look at the world? Be Here Now by Ram Dass, Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras translated by Ravi Ravidra and Revolution by Russell Brand.

What was a defining moment in your life? I am yet to have one defining moment but I do experience gradual daily learning by experiencing, reflecting and opening up to the present moment.

What words of wisdom would you share with your teenage self? Go your own way!

What are you most grateful for? Family, friends, nature and health.

How has your yoga practice evolved over the years? I came to yoga after years of rhythmic gymnastics, I just didn’t want to compete anymore. When I transitioned into yoga I was doing a lot of vinyasa flow and ashtanga yoga. Although, these styles are still loves of mine I now also incorporate gentle Hatha yoga, meditation, Bhakti yoga through chanting, and pranayama (breathing techniques). My yoga benefits every aspect of my life and I have a much more holistic practice.

What is the greatest gift you have learned/received from yoga? The gift of listening to my body. And I mean really listening, our bodies can tell us so much about the way we need to react, the decisions we need to make and the path we need to follow. Yoga has allowed me to find a trust in my body and an ease in my intuition. Our thinking mind can over analyse, scare us and trouble us, I’ve learnt how important it is to give our body a chance to do some guiding.

How do you feel in one word today? Peaceful.

Peppermint Choc Bliss Balls

I LOVE anything peppermint so when I learnt how to make these peppermint choc bliss balls using amazing doTERRA Essential Oils I was so excited! They are super easy and yummy!

+ 1 cup raw almonds
+ 1 cup raw cashews
+ 2 tablespoons cacao powder
+ 10 medjool dates – seeds removed
+ 2 1/2 tablespoon coconut oil (heated if solid)
+ 6 drops of doTEERA Peppermint essential oil (you can also use Wild Orange essential oil).

Blend almonds and cashews on high for 20 seconds. Add all other ingredients and blend for another 30 seconds or until everything is combined. Roll into balls (you can roll in desiccated coconut also if you prefer) and store in fridge or freezer.

Lemon Coconut Sunshine Bliss Balls

Lately I have been getting creative in the kitchen whipping up some quick easy healthy snacks (that you can eat with one hand now that I am a mama!) and these lemon coconut sunshine bliss balls are my current fav’s and just perfect for spring. We will have these and a few other yummy treats at our open day on Saturday 19th November to keep us yogaing all day long!

~ zest from one lemon, grated
~ juice from one lemon
~ pinch salt
~ 1 tsp vanilla extract
~ 1/2 cups desiccated coconut
~ 1 cup ground cashews
~ 1 cup ground macadamia nuts
~ 3 tablespoons coconut oil (warmed up if solid)
~ 2 tablespoons honey (depending on how sweet you like them)

~ Place all ingredients into food processor
~ Blend for 2 minutes or until mixture has combined
~ Roll into bite sized balls
~ Keep in the freezer


Student of the month: Serena Powter

We are excited to share our new feature ‘Student of the month’, where we honour our wonderful community and take some time to get to know our fellow yogis. We hope you enjoy. Our first wonderful Yogi is the always lovely and ever smiling Serena.

Tell us a little about serena 2yourself…
I’m 54 years young and happy, who love’s laughing and yoga, sometimes at the same time.
How long have you been practising yoga?
I’ve been practising yoga with Jasmine for about 10 months. Best decision I’ve made 
Why do you practice yoga?
I practice yoga because I love it and wanted to cut back on running daily and learn to calm the mind and body. Yoga has been perfect for this as I no longer get irritable if I don’t run. Yoga is teaching me to concentrate on my mind and well being instead of focusing and obsessing on body image. Yoga to me is an all round life enhancer.
What is your favourite yoga pose and why?
I love all yoga poses and really digging crow, half moon and pigeon pose. My favourite has always been Tree pose as it makes me feel strong and confident.

What are you most grateful for?
I am most grateful for you Jasmine, you are my first love to yoga. Never had lessons before you and your vibrant easy going nature and wonderful teaching skills keeps me coming back, along with your always friendly welcoming love and your crazy loveable nuttiness.
